How the Third's Method Got Started

Hi everyone

I’m glad you've found this website because I feel like many of us were never shown how we can deal with our painful thoughts and emotions to shift into calm, joy and meaning.

I’ve found as well, sometimes our families and friends get sick of us talking about our difficulties! The reality is if we’re going through something challenging, it will take time to adjust so we need to find a way to support ourselves over this period of time too. Outside help can be useful but personally I needed to find something daily I could do.

I used to be able to manage but then came perimenopause!

I went to hospital to participate in a sleep test. I was all wired up from head to toe, and it was discovered that my cortisol levels rise steadily while I sleep. So, I wake up every day (even on HRT and magnesium) feeling anxious and stressed. Not fun at all! I already suspected this was the case, but had it confirmed scientifically.

So, I had to find a way to shift from a stressed, anxious state in the mornings to one of calm, joy and meaning.

Whilst I am a trained counsellor and change management consultant, my usual techniques didn’t work. That’s when I created The Thirds Method. It made such a difference to my life that I now want to share it with others too.

It’s so simple to practice yourself at home. I hope you find it brings you more calmness, joy and meaning in your life :)
